We set high standards at Lympstone and expect the best from our teachers and children. Our school was graded Good in April 2022 with Outstanding in Early Years. We have been a champion training school for Little Wandle phonics and have a high level of expectation in phonics delivery and rapid catch up. We have a diverse catchment with high levels of SEND, our classes are made up of a wide range of need and of academic ability. We also have a high number of Forces children due to our locality. We are looking for someone who can meet the needs of all of our learners through careful planning and differentiation, challenge and stretch activities and quality first teaching. You must have a relational approach and be able to demonstrate kindness and understanding whilst having firm and fair boundaries. You must have a proven record of excellent teaching experience, this could include teaching practices. We are looking for a team player who is passionate about education and children’s development. You will need to be willing to adapt your practice to the needs of the school and our learners and be willing to share your own strengths openly. We will expect you to drive forward the foundations of future learning in EYFS such as early reading, speech and language and social interaction/ development. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants with passion and knowledge in Computing and Continuous Provision, however this is not essential.
We can offer you a fantastic team who will nurture and support you, TAs to support you and a classroom that you can make your own with its own outside teaching area. Our school is in a beautiful setting and is at the heart of the village. We believe whole heartedly in learning through doing and offer a wide range of experiences and activities to help develop a wider understanding of each other and the world.
If you are willing to work hard and adopt our school procedures in return for being part of a fabulous team in a forward thinking and progressive school, this may well be the job for you! As of the 1st April 2024 we joined Devon Moors Federation and although we remain as an autonomous, unique school, we are now part of a thriving wider network too.
